ขน

n. 1. feather, hair (of body or animal), hair which grows on the body, including the eyebrows-ขนคิ๊ว, and eyeslashes-ขนตา, but not on the head-ผม, or the hair on the face below the eyes-หนวดเครา;

v. 2. to carry off, to transport, to transfer (from one place to another), to move, to remove belongings (things), to haul away, to take away in quantity.

ขนแกะ- wool, fleece;

ขนคิ้ว- the eyebrows; ขนตา- eyelashes; ขนนก- bird feathers; ขนสัตว์- fur; ขนลุก, ขนชัน- hair standing perpendicularly from fright or fear.

เห็นงูทำให้ดิฉันขนลุก The sight of a snake gives me the creeps (makes the hair on my arms stand up).

ผมจะขนของไปอยู่บ้านใหม่ในวันพรุ่งนี้ I shall move to my new house tomorrow. แมวขนพอง (ขนชัน) ขึ้นมาทันทีด้วยความโกรธ The cat immediately bristled in anger. เราเต็มด้วยความขนพองสยองเกล้า We were filled with awe. เสียงสุนัขหอนในยามดึกสงัดทำให้ฉันขนลุก The wailing of the dog in the still of night gave me goose-flesh. เขามีเรืออยู่ลำหนึ่งและทำงานเป็นทั้งผู้รับขนส่งทางน้ำและ คนกลาง He owns a boat and works both as a water carrier and a middleman.
